Noninvasive treatments are becoming more and more popular due to their effective results and lack of downtime. Injectable treatments are some of the most popular noninvasive treatments today to help erase signs of aging and restore a more youthful appearance. At Mountain Lake Plastic Surgery, we offer neuromodulators and dermal fillers to help you achieve the look you desire.

Neuromodulators

Neuromodulators are a category of injectables that are made up of Botulinum Toxin type A. They work by blocking the nerve signals that cause muscles to contract, relaxing and smoothing the look and lines and wrinkles caused by repetitive facial movements. The most common neuromodulator injection used today is Botox. Botox is most commonly used to treat lines between the brows, across the forehead, and at the sides of the eyes. Results from Botox typically last 3-5 months.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are a type of injectable treatment that can help to smooth lines and wrinkles, restore lost volume to the midface and hands, and augment the lips. Unlike neuromodulators, dermal fillers are typically made with hyaluronic acid, which adds plumpness under the skin. At Mountain Lake Plastic Surgery, we offer a wide array of dermal fillers including Juvederm and Restylane products. The longevity of dermal fillers differs depending on the filler used and the area where it’s placed.

Am I a Candidate for Injectables?

If you are generally healthy and have wrinkles, lines, lost facial volume, or thinning lips, you may be able to benefit from injectable treatments. Many individuals also choose injectables since they require little to no downtime, making them an “in and out” treatment.

How is the Treatment Done?

During your injectable treatment, a topical numbing cream can be applied to the treatment area to ensure that you are comfortable. Then, a small syringe will be used to inject the neuromodulator or filler into the targeted area. Treatment is usually quick, taking no more than 30 minutes to complete and sometimes much less.

What is Recovery Like?

There is typically no downtime required following injectable treatments. Some mild bruising, redness, and swelling may occur at the injection site; however, this should dissipate with time.
